Event Badge Opportunity

Have you wanted to plan a community event?  Do you love earning badges?  You can do BOTH with this new (but limited time) opportunity.

All you have to do is host an event and have it submitted for the galactic events calendar (all of the info will be below, and link to official post).

Let me know if you want the event to take place in Solaria, since I can offer support and permissions for most any kind of event.  Maybe even a couple tricks up my sleeve others haven't thought about.

Draakull has agreed to provide one or more badges to those that plan an event on their server to be held in April.

Event planners who follow the guidelines will receive the following and be eligible for recognition as an Event Promoter of the Month:

Community Event Winner 



GUIDELINES (MUST DO ALL):
   Submit the event in the following thread so that it can be included on the SWG Homepage at least one week before the event: Player Events Update Thread
   Post an "Advertisement" on the Events and Storyteller forums [SEE BELOW]
   Add photos and/or video of the event as it happened to the "Advertisement" after the event happened and "recap".
   Send Jod_Iegemai a forum PM of the event promoter/planner's ingame name and server.  When the information has been sent to SWG/SOE, you will receive a return email letting you know of the progress of your ingame badge and your forum icon.


What should the forum advertisement include?
1.  Icon/Picture/Photo to grab the attention of the forum readers
2.  Name of the event
3.  Server (Event and Server Icons)
4.  Ingame Contact(s)
5.  Location (s) (as detailed as possible to include way point and or planet/city)
6.  Description (to include links on everything they need to know in order to "prep" for attendance of the event)
7.  [Post Event] Upadate the thread with pictures/movies of the event with a "recap" (Event Report)


 TIPS:
What if I haven't run an event before?  Where do I begin?
1. The best ideas are the simple ideas for a beginning event planner.  Keep it simple! Events & Storyteller : The Essential Toolkit
2.  Read everything you can on the style of event that you would like to attempt and ask questions: Events and Storyteller
3.  See the following as great examples of advertisements (these are just some examples from LonaValamari, but the following has MANY examples from the basic to the elaborate):  2010 Priole Danna Festival (Mardi Gras) - 2/19/10 @ 7 pm PT, The Fuse™ battles in "Imperial Yell" in Aventine Starport – 2/21/10 @ 12 noon PT, 2010 Festival of Love – 2/9/10 @ 7 pm PT.
4.  Events are not exclusive to ANY play style, they can be combat driven, pvp, space, rp, crafting, pve, cities, guilds, etc.  Storytelling is just that!  Tell a story and execute an event.
